Breakfast consists of pots of café, tea, and hot milk, bowls of fruit, bread and biscuits, with butter, paté and marmalade to spread on them.
Lunch and dinner always come in three courses: a soup or salad, the main course, and for afters, yogurt and fruit, with ice cream or pudding on Sunday or feast days.
Much of the food is home-grown, coming fresh from the garden, dried from last year's crop, or from the livestock.
